Remembering Last Year

Well it is Christmas; this time last year I was living in striped jumpers and flared skirts, so I see no reason to change things up.

(Jumper: Gap; Skirt: Topshop; Boots: Office)

Ok, maybe with a little more excitement.

(Jacket and jumper: ASOS; Skirt: Topshop; Boots: London Rebel; Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs)

Cold Winters

Been really enjoying having cold days and a dark mood to dress appropriately icy.

(Jumper: H&M, Skirt: ASOS; Boots: London Rebel)

(Jacket: Topshop; Skirt: Whistles: Top: ASOS; Necklace: Oliver Bonas; Boots: Office)

Preppy Librarian

(Dress: Joanie; Jumper: Zara; Necklace: H&M; Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs; Boots: London Rebel)

I went through a phase of dressing like a vintage-loving preppy librarian type of blogger and quite enjoyed it.

Brocade Suit

(Suit: Primark: Shoes: Topshop; Necklace: ASOS; Bag: Michael Kors)

Because if you can't wear a mildly outrageous brocade suit at Christmastime when can you?

(Top: Zara; Skirt: Topshop; Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs; Shoes: New Look; Necklace: vintage)

Well why should one stripe ever be enough when you can have two?

Satin and Velvet

(Jacket: Topshop; Skirt: ASOS; Boots: London Rebel; Bag: Prada)

This season is very much about texture, so how about a riot of it with velvet skirt, satin reversible jacket and leather accessories?

Shame about the year; just one out!

A Grand Tradition

(Jacket: ASOS; Top and skirt: Topshop; Shoes: New Look; Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs; Necklace: H&M)

Doing my best impression of that Gucci two-piece with a great skirt from last season and a GREAT jacket from this season. When I got my first proper paycheque from my first proper job I bought a red fringed leather jacket which I still have. This was my similar purchase with the first paycheque from my new job. Maybe it'll be a tradition.

Autumn sports

(Jacket: Topshop; Jumper and trousers: ASOS; Trainers: Adidas; Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs)

Help, I'm addicted to reversible Topshop bomber jackets. But they just keep bringing out better and better ones...and at least they transcend seasons. Really digging this overall sports luxe vibe too.

Red and Gold

(Skirt: Topshop; Shoes: New Look: Necklace: H&M; Jumper: old; Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs)

Nothing says 'creeping into the festive season via a truly beautiful autumn' like red and gold!

(Dress and shirt: ASOS; Shoes: Zara; Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs)

I adore wisteria and this print is a total gift. Also love me a drop-waist dress and interesting sleeves/floaty details so naturally this pairing needed to come home to me.

(T-shirt: RedBubble; Belt: old; Jacket: old; Skirt and shoes: ASOS; Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs)

Might have gone a bit tooooo far here. But there's only one way to go with a metallic skirt - blend in or get a bold t-shirt to match.

Beautiful Bargain

(Dress: H&M; Boots: London Rebel; Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs; Coat: Zara; Scarf: Helen Moore)

Oh yes. It's THAT £15 dress. I caved after seeing it on too many people's Instagram feeds. I am very glad.

(Skirt: Topshop; Jumper: ASOS; Belt: New Look; Shoes: M&S; Bag: vintage)

If last winter was the season of the shimmery, sparkly skirt, this year it's allll about the velvet one. This golden-yellow beauty is likely to be the first of many.

To Boldly Go

(Dress: & Other Stories; Shoes: Zara; Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs)

Have I told you about my combined love for space-themed prints and casual little day dresses, and have I also mentioned that the closing credits theme to Star Trek is playing as I write this? Perfect timing.

Tragic 80s Boyband Reject

(Jacket: Zara; T-shirt: RedBubble; Jeans and shoes: ASOS; Belt: old; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company; Pin: Black Heart Creatives)

When your hair is giving nothing but 'Flock of Seagulls tribute act' and your amazing new t-shirt paying tribute to a great 80s-set show has arrived and you just go all out...

Dress to Kill

Really really off my game at this at the moment, so here are just three amazing dresses/amazingly styled dresses, depending on which way you look at it.

(Dress: ASOS; Jacket: H&M; Boots: London Rebel)

I call this 'Eva Green's unimpressed angry goth little sister via Nina Ricci'. Wisteria is a gorgeous flower, and it makes for an even more gorgeous print on this knockout off-the-shoulder dress.

(Dress: Warehouse: Shirt and trainers: Topshop; Jacket: H&M; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company)

My MD said this was a great outfit. I told him this was nothing, so I now have to up my game considerably. But this was a great dress acquisition for sure.

(Dress: Finery; Shoes: Clarks; Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs)

Oh Finery, how I adore thee. Despite your occasionally perplexing sizing, your way with a print and a cut (at a reasonable price) is unparalleled. I also have a fondness for your frequent discounting practice.

Business Bitch

Very much enjoying being a) back to red hair and b) back to more sociable temperatures. Both these looks involved a bargain - a Whistles skirt I lusted over at full price and had to have at half, and a budget ASOS dress I managed to get FREE based on their points scheme. Happy days indeed!

(Jacket: ASOS; Shirt: M&S; Skirt: Whistles; Sandals: Dune; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company; Watch: Michael Kors)

(Dress: ASOS; Necklace: Oliver Bonas; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company; Watch: Michael Kors; Sandals: Dune)

The look of the season

As summer finally appears to be bowing out after a long sweaty summer - which, shockingly and against my brand, I've really loved despite all the various grim developments - a quick lookback at one of my favourite looks. Summer dressing can be a lot more fun than winter dressing and I've really enjoyed bright culottes and bold necklaces. As well as newly back-to-ginger hair!

(Top, necklace and trousers: Topshop; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company; Sandals: Dune)

(Jacket and necklace: Topshop; Top: Dorothy Perkins; Culottes: Zara; Sandals: Dune; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company)

Stripes and Spots

(Top and belt: ASOS; Skirt: Whistles; Bag: Vintage; Sandals: Dorothy Perkins)

Alt Summer Dress

(Dress: Warehouse; Belt: ASOS; Bag: Vintage; Sandals: Dorothy Perkins)

This one would be better accessorised with a Spanish beach and a red hibiscus. But this will have to do.

All My Finery

(Dress: Finery; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company; Sandals: Topshop)

My first Finery dress. It won't be my last.

Wild Swans

(Dress and sandals: Topshop; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company)

Silk Pyjamas

(Jacket, shirt and sandals: Topshop; culottes: Zara; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company)

Summer Brights

(Scarf: Zara; Top: Dorothy Perkins; Culottes: Topshop; Sandals: Dune; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company)

Back to what I know best - all the shapes and allll the colours.

Real Hero

(Jacket: Topshop; Pyjama shirt and jeans: ASOS; Sandals: Dune; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company)

Everyone else gets sad when it gets a little cooler. I like it just as much as I get to layer.

Simple As

(Dress: Zara; Bag: Sophie Hulme; Sandals: Mango)

Dressing like a picnic blanket in picnic weather.

Just Another Dress

(Dress: Zara; Bag: Sophie Hulme; Sandals: Dorothy Perkins)

God bless simple knock-out dresses when it's too hot to think.

Dream Culottes

(Jacket and sandals: Topshop; Top: ASOS; Culottes: Zara; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company; Ring: Tessa Metcalfe)

Now I normally don't like tie-waisted things, but these are a dream pair o' culottes. POCKETS too. AND a tenner in the sale.
